New South Wales Premier, Morris Iemma, expressed his interest in PTG Global at the CeBIT exhibition this morning. Iemma opened CeBIT and afterwards came to call on PTG Global's stand, along with Spectrum Wired and Elcom Technology.
CeBIT has been running annually for five years, and is the leading Information and Communications Technology (ICT) event for the business marketplace. It is recognised for its emphasis on cutting edge exhibitors with up-to-date, innovative products. CeBIT has attracted over 700 exhibitors this year, twice as many as when it started in 2002.
PTG Global is exhibiting at CeBIT this week as representatives of New South Wales? ICT industry in association with the Department of State and Regional Development (DSRD), along with seventeen other companies. A key role of DSRD includes supporting enterprise improvement programs that enhance international competitiveness and driving investment projects. DSRD identified three companies at CeBIT of value to Mr Iemma, beginning with PTG Global.
In talking with Craig Errey (MD) and James Breeze, (GM) the Premier expressed interest in the fact that the Company?s core consulting group was largely comprised of Industrial Psychologists.
Errey is a firm believer in the importance of end users in IT projects and employs psychologists to design high performance user interfaces. “When we told the Premier that [General Manager] James and I were both psychologists, he was very surprised that we were working in IT. We then explained to him that technology is really all about people!” PTG Global was chosen on the basis of its contribution to New South Wales business and the ICT industry, along with its innovation in user interface design and usability. PTG Global currently spends around 10% of revenue on R&D and provides mentoring and Post graduate training through its partnerships with the University of NSW, Macquarie University and the University of Technology, Sydney. PTG Global was 1 of 3 finalists in the 2005 Yellow Pages Business Ideas Grants.
Errey was also given the opportunity to explain PTG Global?s IT Blueprint to the Premier, placing emphasis on the impact that it has on overall project productivity and predictability of outcome.
Craig Errey says he was “thrilled to be chosen by DSRD to be visited by Premier Iemma.”
